Glacial Remains

As more teachers find students having difficulty reading and understanding scientific concepts in textbooks they are always looking for new ways to stimulate student learning. <I>Glacial Remains</I> discusses the evidence that the northern reaches of the United States were covered by glacial ice that melted 8000-10000 years ago. It easily provides teachers with content about a portion of geological history that is not well represented in national textbooks. Since <I>Glacial Remains</I> is discussing that evidence in a story form students will read and remember the information more easily than they would from a textbook. </P><P>Reading teachers will also be able to use <I>Glacial Remains</I> in their classes especially as they coordinate their teaching with the science teachers. Suggestions of activities from <I>Glacial Remains</I> that might be used in the classroom are also included. </P>
