Greg Matthews has been condemned to an eternity of pain and suffering in the depths of a terrible hell. Forced into constant meaningless and brutal labor. Things take a turn for the even more unusual and cruel as Jasper the whimsical psychopath that lords himself over the community of damned souls eyes Greg for a special project. Each year a tournament of death is held with the workers as competitors that allows the winner to leave and return to the life they lived. Jasper wants Greg to fight for him. Make him do terrible things he never thought he was capable of. In return Jasper would allow not only Greg himself but his entire group of friends to leave should he win. But if he fails he and all those he holds dear will live a much deeper definition of pain than thought possible. With more than just his own eternal soul hanging in the balance Greg must step up and find it in himself to be at least a fraction of the madman that the one now pulling his puppet strings is or lose it all trying.
