There are two major trends that are driving the nature of GNSS receiver development today. First there is a growing number of Global Navigation Satellite Systems(GNSS) that exist or are under developmentso that in the near future users will potentially have access to many more satellites and systems than they do today. The second major trend is the growth in computing power and flexible signal processing capability. These two factors combined together point to the value of having a software-designed radio that is able to acquire and track as many GNSS signals from various systems as possible. This research describes the development of a GNSS software receiver at the Advanced Navigation Technology (ANT)Center at AFIT. This software receiver uses data collected by a high-quality receiver front end developed by Ohio University which has a 24 MHz bandwidth and a 12-bit sampler operating at 57M samples per second. The ANT Center Software Receiver currently runs in a post-processing mode and is able to simultaneously acquire and track signals from multiple GNSS systems.

This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
