Global warming refers to the gradual increase in the average temperature of earth’s surface and atmosphere. The consequences of global warming impact Earth’s systems in numerous ways leading to significant changes in weather patterns and disrupting the balance of nature. Generating electricity and heat by burning fossil fuels causes a large chunk of global emissions. Climate change poses risks to the survival of species on land and in the ocean.
