Since their creation our planet and other celestial bodies in our solar system have received visitors from various parts of the universe. These visits have sparked the emergence of religions legends myths and even civilizations that identify themselves as not native to Earth. Along with them they brought genuine technological knowledge that has driven the evolution of Earth's inhabitants. In Gods or Civilizations from the Stars author Antonio Alves seeks to share legends myths and sacred texts from around the world that describe these star beings as missionaries of humanity's evolution providing examples of civilizations that chose to colonize or temporarily reside on Earth. Alves also writes about his own experiences. In late 1979 while planning an evening meeting with a friend he encountered a bright white light that had a profound impact on his life.
