After nine years of exposing the underbelly of Atlanta's crime scene Investigative reporter Casey Turner needed a break. A year long sabbatical on Hilton Head Island seemed like just the ticket. She would lay on the beach read sail get a tan. A visit to nearby Daufuskie Island sparked memories and an interest in learning about the Gullah Geechee culture.
