<p>Norman Lear's <em>Good Times</em> wasn't just a television show-it reflected the times a powerful narrative shaped by the Civil Rights Movement of the sixties and seventies and a story of love laughter and resilience. As Thelma Evans I had the honor of representing a strong beautiful brown-skinned girl whose journey echoed the hopes and dreams of countless viewers.</p><p><br></p><p>In this heartfelt memoir I invite you behind the scenes of <em>Good Times</em>. Our show broke barriers and authenticated and redefined what family community and success looked like for Black America. From the inspiration that Eric Monte and Michael Evans brought to life to the impact of the Civil Rights Movement on the storylines <em>Good Time</em>s was more than entertainment-it was a cultural movement.</p><p><br></p><p>I'll share personal memories of working with my incredible co-stars the laughter we shared and the iconic guest stars who graced our set. Plus I've included a special Q&A chapter where I answer some of the burning questions fans have asked me over the years. </p><p><br></p><p>In this book I'll tell you what <em>Good Times</em> meant to me how it shaped my life and career and paved the way for more authentic representations of Black families on television.
