<p>Luis Delgado was best friends and occasional stand-in for James Garner beloved actor behind such classics as Maverick and The Rockford Files. When Garner was selected by John Frankenheimer as the actor to portray American Formula 1 racer Pete Aron in the 1966 MGM release Grand Prix Luis accompanied Jim to Europe in June 1966 for principal photography at numerous actual Grand Prix races in Europe. Luis documented the shooting with his Leica using Kodachrome 35mm transparency film capturing Garner Formula 1 racers who participated in the film the cast and crew and much more. Garner and Delgado traveled to Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium Clermont-Ferrand and Le Mans in France Brands Hatch in England and <span style=color: rgba(70 70 73 1); background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. This book contains an amazing never-before-published account of Delgado and Garner's time filming Grand Prix preserved by Delgado's son Blake and is a testament to the raw real-life action behind the scenes of the first modern auto racing film in Hollywood history that would go on to win technical Oscars at the following year's Academy Awards.</span></p>
