An Abapkwa man with a sharp eye and a self-proclaimed knack for social critique he acts as a modern-day griot a Sangntoh interpreting the world around him. With the perspective of one who has witnessed the passing of time Vitaah compares life in Bum Quarters at the close of the 20th century with its beginnings. He observes the neighbourhood children the young women entering into marriage and the aspirations of those striving for economic and technological advancement. This work an African comedy born in Bamenda is seasoned with the local flavours of raffia wine and kola nut humour. It offers a glimpse into the social history of the region exploring its unique worldview spirituality religious beliefs and the ever-present influence of the outside world. The dialogue rich in Pidgin reflects the evolution of this dynamic language. Born from the fusion of Old Krio English and other European languages Pidgin emerged as Africans navigated the complexities of interaction and trade with the West.</span></p><p></p>
