<p>According to Greek mythology the beginnings of their deities are complex and diverse. Athena celebrated as the goddess of Greece Athena was viewed as the principal goddess of the area and the guardian of Athens. Among Greek deities Zeus is seen as the ruler of the gods and the head of the Olympian gods. Tales of other gods were also significant in ancient Greece. During that era Athena was an important figure and we will examine a brief overview of the Greek pantheon. Furthermore her Roman counterpart is Minerva who possesses many characteristics similar to those of the Greek goddess Athena. Stories have been inspired by Hesiod's Theogony and Homer's Iliad.</p>
