Green hydrogen is emerging as a strategic pillar of the energy transition mobilizing researchers and industry alike. This book focuses on the production of electricity from hydrogen using a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) and presents a complete analysis of a two-hybrid system combining solar energy and hydrogen. The state of the art addresses the various components of the system: the energy source (photovoltaic and PEMFC) as well as the energy carriers (hydrogen and electricity) detailing their physical thermal and electrical characteristics. This approach enables a better understanding of the phenomena that govern the system's operation. The photovoltaic source sized to power the electrolyzer is optimized using an MPPT algorithm ensuring maximum extraction of solar power.Once powered the electrolyzer produces hydrogen (H₂) which is stored and then used to power a PEMFC cell. This work thus highlights the potential of an intelligent coupling between solar energy water and hydrogen.
