About The Book

In this study natural or environmentally friendly methods were used to synthesize gold (Au) silver (Ag) and bimetallic nanoparticles from Aegle marmelos seed extract using water (aqueous extract). The evenly distributed nature of the silver nanoparticle was noted by the spectrophotometer data (UV) at λ max 424nM. FTIR and EDX analysis confirmed that bioactive components present in Aegle marmelos seed aqueous extract were used to form gold silver and bimetallic nanoparticles. The formation of Ag nanoparticles was amply demonstrated by the XRD data. The TEM study verified the spherical form with an average diameter of about 20 nm. We also investigated the photocatalytic anti-oxidant anti-bacterial and anti-cancer activities of biosynthesized gold silver and bimetallic nanoparticles. For the first time we demonstrated in our findings that all three different NPs exhibit photocatalytic activity and free radical scavenging activity which is a good indication for the development of drugs as therapeutic agents.
