Sensing that he is beckoned by his ancestors to help preserve their memories the author embarks on a fascinating journey to discover more about his Eastern-European Yiddish heritage and to bring his ancestors to life. Growing up in the 40s and 50s in Detroit as the only child and grandchild of an immigrant family steeped in old country culture his maternal grandparents became his closest friends.
