<p><strong>Guardians of Myth: The Scourge of Sangre Grande</strong> is a folklore and fantasy novel set in Trinidad and Tobago.</p><p><br></p><p>The story follows Mandira a young woman who is mysteriously drawn into a hidden forest. There she encounters Papa Bois a shape-shifting spirit and discovers a hidden village that is a past version of her hometown Sangre Grande.</p><p><br></p><p>As Mandira explores this unfamiliar world she learns about the dangers that lurk within the forest including the threat of a soucouyant a malevolent creature from local folklore. With the help of Papa Bois and a villager named Priya Mandira must devise a plan to defeat the soucouyant and protect the village.</p><p><br></p><p>In the process Mandira discovers that she has a special connection to the natural world and is destined to become a Guardian of Myth a protector of the forest and its inhabitants; past present and future. As she embraces her newfound role Mandira must confront her fears and use her unique abilities to save the day.</p>
