Guest the One-Eyed

The story begins with Gestur the son of a chieftain growing up in medieval Iceland. He is known for his physical strength intelligence and strong sense of honor. As he matures Gestur becomes embroiled in the complex political and social dynamics of Icelandic society which is characterized by feuds alliances and shifting loyalties among chieftains. Gestur's journey is marked by various challenges and conflicts. He navigates the tensions between paganism and Christianity as Icelanders are gradually converting to Christianity during this period. Gestur himself grapples with questions of faith and tradition as he tries to reconcile his beliefs with the changing religious landscape.
