This bibliography is the first to provide systematic coverage of the numerous guides directories calendars inventories and registers on archives and manuscript collections in the United States. It also covers guides to foreign archives holding materials crucial to an understanding of U.S. history and extends beyond the continential United States to include archives in Puerto Rico the Virgin Islands and other Trust Territories.
