Habitats of Innovation

About The Book

Innovation habitats are innovative enterprises formed by the concentration of a set of organizations presenting as a competitive advantage the physical proximity to other companies and institutions in particular universities and research centers thus expanding the possibilities of establishing synergies. One can observe the existence of several nomenclatures of habitats ranging from Smart Cities and Technology Parks to pre-incubators. These environments are spaces for collective learning exchange of knowledge and productive practices of interaction between the various innovation agents. Currently they are being considered as the new arrangements for entrepreneurs and therefore in several countries have presented significant results in the international sphere being considered by government agencies as positive instruments of public policies for regional development. The objective of this book therefore is to stimulate the production of knowledge about these environments to contribute to academic activities and actions in public and private organizations which support the integration of agents of the triple helix.
