Half Way Up the Pyramid

This book is an autobiography of a Professor Emeritus who came to the States at age 9 speaking two words of English yes and no. It describes how a person from a nonacademic background gets into a career of biomedical science; the rewards and frustrations of such a career. Many of the rewards and frustrations were unanticipated. It tells us how his life was fulfilled also by things other than his work.
