About The Book

This Handbook aims to discuss the existing rules of water law and various water legislations in the country and compare them with international law standpoints. The basic objectives of this handbook will be to bring out the domestic usages and management of water resources and compare them to current international developments in the field. The handbook also aims to point out lacunae in existing in domestic law by comparing it with international law standpoints and to observe the value of judgments by various water tribunals as far as water disputes are concerned. The handbook focuses on groundwater pollution and better recharge of groundwater. It highlights the domestic schemes which have been initiated by the government for better water conservation and management. Furthermore it speaks of contemporary water disputes that India is facing as well in the current scenario.
