Happy Birthday My Darling

SUSAN UEBEL was born in Anlaby near Hull in 1939. She was educated at HullFrench Convent and later went on to train for Drama at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. She taught Speech & Drama atKelvin Hall School Hull and remained there for eight years before leaving to study for a BA (Hons.) inDrama at Hull University. After graduating she becamea professional Actress and worked in Theatre Television and Radio for several years. In 1979 she met her actor husband Ronald Herdman when they became members of Alan Ayckbourn's Company at his Theatre-in-the-Round in Scarborough. In 1982 they married and moved to London where they continued to work. In 1986 Susan accepted the post of Director of Drama at St. Paul's Girls' School in London and taught there until retirement in 1997. This Memoirtells the story of their marriage and is a loving tribute to Susan's husband Ronnie who died in 2004.
