Truly a dog lovers book for anyone who has even fallen in love with one and lost it. It is the story about a dachshund who was rescued from a dog pound in Arizona and then brought to the Midwest where he lived for six years. During that time he nearly died from a mysterious intestinal ailment which doctors could never quite diagnose. He underwent a complete blood transfusion in order to save his life. Three years after that he suddenly became paralyzed and had to be euthanized. This is story about love and hope and despite enormous pain it is also a celebration of what dogs bring to their owners through their unfailing love and loyalty
