Health care provision in the Ouenzé health district

The aim of this study is to assess the problem of access to healthcare in the Ouenzé health district arrondissement 5 of Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo. Medical coverage is very low at 11%. Several factors limit coverage in this area: self-medication spatial mobility the price of products on the market and so on. To address these issues new health planning is needed (improving the technical facilities of the CSIs opening up the old centers and establishing a referral hospital etc.). We surveyed 152 households and used diachronic systemic and other approaches to gain a better understanding of the health situation.
