Health Seeking Behaviors of the Indigenous Peoples of Ilocos

The study investigated the interplay of health needs health seeking behaviors and barriers to healthcare access of the Tingguians Kankanaeys and Bagos of Alilem and Lidlida Ilocos Sur. A Free and Prior Informed Consent was secured before the collection of data. Both quantitative and qualitative data were gathered. Quantitative data were obtained using a structured questionnaire that was translated to Ilokano Itneg and Kankanaey dialects and back-translated to English. Qualitative data were gathered through focus group discussions using an interview guide. Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation was used to analyze data with level of significance at .05.
