Heat Transfer Enhancement by Cross-flow Jet and Surface Protrusions

Heat transfer enhancement from a protruded surface using a cross-flow jet has been the central focus of this book. The role of a cross-flow jet for heat transfer augmentation has been investigated computationally using finite volume method. A comparative analysis for heat transfer enhancement by a cross-flow jet arrangement and a non cross-flow jet arrangement has been presented. Surface protrusions of different types have been deployed for heat transfer from a heated surface. Rigorous numerical computations have been carried out for heat transfer pumping power analysis both for conducting and non conducting surface protrusions.
