HELP ME UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE

<p>The Bible was not written for the English-speaking reader.</p><p>It was written in the Middle East in a radically different culture</p><p>hundreds of years ago. They did not have the logic that we use so</p><p>easily - Greek logic. It was written before science began.</p><p>If we read the Bible trying to force it into our science and logic</p><p>we will often be disappointed.</p><p>Instead we need to learn to read it devotionally with our right</p><p>brain. The word pictures are beautiful and effective. The narratives</p><p>tell of God reaching into our history to touch lives. We need to</p><p>allow our spirits to be blessed by the Creator who is reaching out to</p><p>us through his Son Jesus and his Holy Spirit.</p>
