<p>This is the memoir of one who grew up in a variety of towns across much of South Africa. It is the story of what could be called an extraordinarily ordinary life. It deals with the events and everyday things common to that time and place with the vicissitudes that go with being a child in that milieu. The book covers the period 1950 to the early part of 1970.</p>
