HERITAGE BUILDINGS OF PATNA OVERLOOKING GANGES OR NEAR IT

The capital city Patna named as various names kausambi Kusumpur Puspapur Patli Patliputra Phulwari during the various phases of its evolution of city. Patna has a very rich history buried underneath the foundation of present city. The city known from the time of Ramayana and lively today also with the change in its size shape and population. It is a sacred spot visited by many and blessed by the Great Buddha. As per the geographical location the city is surrounded by river from the three side which makes the city efficient in waterways transportation system. The city is well connected through road and waterways in the past which makes city efficient in the commercial activity as well as centre of activities and city use to be capital of the many Kingdom.  In this book titled “Heritage buildings of Patna Overlooking Gangas or near it” a documentation of  the important architectural monuments specimen either standing on the bank of the river Ganges or not very far from it have been done. All these heritage such as important buildings temples mosque tombs churches and gurdwaras are listed and documented with help of sketches photographs and drawings. This book will be a record for the all these heritage buildings some of them are either in ruined state or demolished. Total 68 such monuments have been listed and documented in this book.
