Herland

The novel follows a group of three men who stumble upon an all-female society called Herland hidden deep in a remote uncharted region of South America. The men observe the Herland women''s society and try to understand how their culture which is completely devoid of men works. As the story progresses the men become increasingly enamored with the Herland women and their culture and ultimately must decide whether to integrate into the society or leave and return to their own world. The novel explores themes of gender feminism and the societal implications of a male-dominated culture.
