<p>Lyra Vansin is a vampire from Hexington Falls a city within a pocket dimension where all creatures of the supernatural thrive.</p><p><br></p><p>She leads a team of gifted individuals called the Nocturnal Squad who's job is to protect the human realm from the evil that escapes from their world.</p><p><br></p><p>While not taking any major assignments due to a job gone wrong almost a year prior Lyra and her team are forced with a mission that has to do with a close friend who has gone rogue.</p><p><br></p><p>Etta Bettings a powerful witch escapes from Sacred Hills and have stolen a dangerous artifact called <strong>the Heart of Mare</strong>. A powerful stone that was used to create almost all of the supernatural beings that makes up their society.</p><p><br></p><p>All hands are on deck which means Lyra's team is forced with a new team member to help them with their mission and who is also an old flame of the vampire. A wizard named Mason Bettings.</p><p><br></p><p>Mason a notorious trouble-maker in the past is also the brother-in-law to Etta who they are trying to stop. He was also MIA for almost a year without a word to anyone. Especially to Lyra who has been blaming herself to be the reason why everything went sideways almost a year ago.</p><p><br></p><p>Lyra now has to get all of her feelings in check and keep her team from being easily distracted by nonsense while trying to save a dear friend from causing chaos in both their world and the humans.</p><p><br></p><p>Did I mention that she's also training a rookie who may have seen too many cop movies?
