High-Rise

With its forty floors and thousand apartments its supermarket and swimming-pools bank and junior school -- all in effect abandoned in the sky -- the high-rise offered more than enough opportunities for violence and confrontation. JG Ballard - High-Rise. Ballard was always an intensely visual writer and in the novel High-Rise he gave detailed descriptions of the tower block itself and the floor locations of nearly a hundred residents. Using Google SketchUp I created my own vision of the tower block and all of the residents whose floors are mentioned.
