Higher Education and Training - Lessons from the Case of Benin is a book essentially devoted to the analysis of three major problems that undermine the Beninese university system and probably others on the African continent. Drawing on his professional experiences research and theoretical and conceptual frameworks Dr. AOULOU explains why these problems are serious and deserve to be addressed by key actors in university systems. The author explains why the lack of efforts to find appropriate solutions to these problems seriously compromises human capital formation and thus the future or national development. Not content with simply raising concerns he suggests solutions inspired by what the Anglo-Saxons call the Best Practices to remedy the three major problems mentioned.
