Hinterlands

Hinterlands: Stories from Lands Beyond How do we write about nature? How do we relate to nature? The answer varies of course from person to person. In this anthology of public domain works we tried to capture the nuances of humankind's relationship with nature. The wilderness inspires awe and terror in equal measures and that's what we want to display. We had two goals in putting together this book. First to choose works from all over the world to showcase nature's diversity. Second to choose poetry and prose that show nature's different aspects: the beauty the darkness and everything in between. This anthology started as a completely different book and after weeks of work it evolved into what it is now: an ode to the complexity of humankind's relationship with nature.
