(Closest equivalent to English would be 'longing'.)In Etymology 'hir' means 'long' + 'aeth' means 'pain grief sorrow and longing'. Hiraeth is a homesickness and deep yearning for places and feelings from your past that you can't return to or even those places and feelings you've never been to or experienced. Hiraeth can also mean nostalgia for your past self the people who are long gone or the emotions you used to feel. It is a mixture of emotions like longing yearning wistfulness nostalgia or a sincere desire for what never existed or no longer does.These pages are filled with so many emotional moments of my life of me.
