Born in Kentucky she came with her parents to Arkansas when a young girl and here married. She was a woman of talent and during the Constitutional Convention referred to above was a journal clerk being the first woman to hold a position of that character in Arkansas and for about a dozen years thereafter she occupied similar clerical positions in the various sessions of the State Legislature.
