In this paper the author wants to present the possibility of interpreting the novel Flaubert’s Parrot written by the British novelist Julian Barnes. The protagonist searches the reality and true about himself and others but he doesn’t reach any result. The author focus on Linda Hutcheon approach that takes in to account the French context and consider nihilism in this novel. There are significant themes like truth unstable history that are related to the ethical system. This novel is the detective novel so there is the question that how can we find the true parrot? And discussing to find the parrot that sat on Flaubert’s desk when he wrote Un Coeur simple.
