History According to SAT

<p>The SAT does not test students on their historical knowledge, but about forty percent of its reading passages contain historical content. Many students, including those who have taken multiple SAT classes, struggle with these passages because they lack the background knowledge that would help them understand what they are reading. </p><p>Instead of offering more test-taking skills and strategies, <em>History According to SAT: A Content Guide to SAT Reading and Writing</em> summarizes about seven hundred years of history in a concise, easy-to-read narrative that makes over 140 direct connections to SAT passages. This knowledge-based approach to the test will allow students to minimize their reliance on test-taking skills and strategies and simply understand what they are reading.</p>
