History of Wages in the United States from Colonial Times to 1928

<p>2021 Reprint of the 1929 Edition.  Facsimile of the original edition and not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. This report was originally published in the <em>Bulletin of the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics No. 604. </em>Written during the year of the Great Depression this report attempted to present a picture of American wages from early colonial times to 1929. In general the policy was to select representative occupations in representative industries and present for such occupations as continuous a record as possible of wages and hours of labor. In is in summary form a record of the holdings of the <em>U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics</em>.</p>
