HIV infection is currently one of the leading causes of death and disease in countries around the world and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in general and Mwene-Ditu in particular are no exception. Ignorance of the serological status is one of the important factors of the propagation of the disease. Therefore we conducted a descriptive and cross-sectional observational study from June 15 to July 15 2020 i.e. one month in our railway town of Mwene-Ditu. It consisted in identifying not only the explanatory factors of low utilization of HIV voluntary counseling and testing services (VCT) but also in determining the socio-demographic characteristics of the users of this service. The usual descriptive and epidemiological statistical analyses were carried out for this purpose to determine the associations between certain variables studied.
