HIV/AIDS vs. DRC and the Congolese Military

<p>The World faces an HIV/AIDS pandemic and the impact is devastating in Africa especially Southern Eastern Sub-Saharan and parts of Western Africa. The location of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) places the country and its people virtually in the middle of this African HIV/AIDS vortex. The dilemma is how to address the DRC's HIV/AIDS situation knowing resources are limited (i.e. What might have the most positive impact and thus where to start?). Two key parts of the solution are to educate all involved ranging from a single Congolese (DRC) citizen all the way to the United Nations (UN) and then to call them to action to the fullest extent of their respective capabilities. Therefore this paper presents a quick study of the DRC that reveals the magnitude of the potential challenges.</p><p>This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
