Hobbes und der Krieg der Staaten

Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte Note: 55 (sehr gut) Universität St. Gallen Sprache: Deutsch Abstract: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit den Arbeiten Thomas Hobbes' zum Krieg und besonders zum Krieg der Staaten. Zunächst wird das theoretische Gerüst welches Hobbes seinen Thesen zugrunde legt erläutert und in Bezug zur kantischen Friedenslehre sowie zum aristotelischen Menschenbild gesetzt um dann anhand der hobbesschen Theorien die moderne Internationale Politik mit besonderer Hinwendung zum Konflikt zwischen Idealismus und Realismus zu analysieren. Hobbes ganzheitlicher Ansatz zur Kriegstheorie wird dann zur Untersuchung des Kosovo-Konflikts und der Rolle der UNO als möglicher „Superleviathan genutzt. This text deals with Thomas Hobbes works concerning war and especially war among nations. After explaining the underlying concepts of Hobbes' thesis and comparing it to the Kantian peace theory and the Aristotelian picture of mankind Hobbes' theories are applied to modern-day international politics especially with respect to the aspects of realism vs. idealism. Hobbes holistic views on war are then implemented into the analysis of the current crisis in Kosovo and the role of the UNO as the possible „superleviathan of the world.
