Hollywood under Siege

The twenty-first century is a melange of different influences overlapping each other due first and foremost to the globalization process. One of the major forces driving the globalization process is also one of the biggest economical powers of present: the USA. The first part of this paper focuses on the description of a number of globalization processes by analyzing a music video as well as explaining how the majority of national film industries including Europe’s were marginalized by Hollywood’s imperialistic ambitions throughout the better part of the 90s. This in turn brought about the world’s response to Hollywood’s attempt to monopolize the film market as a massive anti-Hollywood cultural movement began.
