This theme has long stood in contrast with merit-based values and has deeply wounded the nation through the recurring curse of so-called good genes. In this work accompanied by its illustrations the story of Iran-both real and mythical-is told with humor and irony tracing the nation's journey from its earliest days to the present. It reflects on how time and again Iran's misfortunes and missed triumphs can be traced back to this sorrowful ever-repeating tale.</span></p>
