Holy Trinity Church of Ireland Cemetery Lisnaskea Aghalurcher Parish County Fermanagh

<p class=ql-align-justify>The Holy Trinity Church of Ireland Cemetery in Lisnaskea in County Fermanagh is an important source for post mid-nineteen century history of Aghalurcher parish. At that time Lisnaskea was the largest urban area in Fermanagh and this Anglican cemetery recorded the lives of its residents ranging from aristocrats to servants. The graves of clergy politicians bankers military and police officers were prominent.</p><p class=ql-align-justify></p><p class=ql-align-justify>In 2017 we surveyed the cemetery and photographed all of the gravestones and the memorials within the church. We have presented the inscriptions from the funerary monuments <em>in situ</em> keying each name on them to the maps and the index at the end of the book. Along with maps we have included photographs of the church and the cemetery sections as well as providing a series of color plates which depict various styles of tombstones that we have encountered in Irish graveyards; they serve as a visual glossary for our descriptions of the gravestones. 196 pages.</p><p></p>
