Honor Thy Father

Can you honor your father if you've never seen him? Can you honor your father if you've never heard him? Can you honor your father if you don't know him as the person he is? Not as an unknown father figure but him? What does honor mean? It doesn't say obey trust mind love visit or respect. It says honor. What does honor mean? The dictionary definition is . respect. In 1996 I discovered I had a dad. I was thirty-six years old. I never had a father to honor. I never knew him. I never heard him. I never saw him. How could I honor this stranger?
