Hospital Environmental Management in Colombia

The provision of health services is increasingly assisted and the environmental problems associated with such service provision are increasing. The integrated management of hospital hazardous waste is one of the challenges of corporate environmental management in the health sector. Hazardous wastes with biological and chemical risks are a determining factor that must be assessed in order to reduce the environmental impacts in the health care areas of the country''s clinics and hospitals and to contribute to the generation of sustainable development strategies for the institutions that provide health services.
