Host Modulatory Therapy

About The Book

The concept of modulating host destructive pathways as a strategy for treating periodontal diseases has come a long way since the 1970s. Currently due to an improved understanding of the pathogenesis of periodontal diseases an additional approach to therapy with respect to modulation of the host response has received attention. The Host modulatory therapy (HMT) aims to reduce tissue destruction and stabilize or even regenerate the periodontium by modifying the host response. This book will provide a review on pathogenesis of host response and the role of Systemically and Locally administered host modulating agents.
