The concepts of household income consumption and food security are today the subject of various studies in several fields including economics statistics sociology demography and many others. The conceptual debate generated by these studies comes up again and again in symposia and seminars and in articles and books in view of its importance. This article deals with the household budget and food consumption score in rural areas in general and specifically in KIBUMBA (North Kivu Democratic Republic of Congo) with the aim of identifying strategies that can lead to the establishment of a climate of food security in the study area.
