Housing the Needy: South African Challenge

Housing a nation is top on the development agenda of any country. The success of any administration is measured by its capacity to adequately house those who are in dire need. South Africa currently faces a housing backlog that culminates into service delivery protests as the poor demands to be housed properly. The issue of widespread shack settlements is worrisome. The government can only alleviate protests if majority of the poor are able to meet their housing needs.
