<p>This book begins by outlining the essence of Neo-Pragmatism and then interprets China's development process from two perspectives: the determining factors and its impact on other countries as well as the global economy. The author argues that Chinese-ism constitutes a distinct model- a mixed economy based on diverse forms of ownership of the means of production which has evolved alongside a centralized state essentially grounded in elite governance. The state's policies are both capable and responsible with medium- and short-term objectives subordinated to long-term strategic goals. Based on this analysis the author makes a bold prediction: the future of the world will increasingly depend on the future of China.
