He spent up to eight hours a day learning while working as a dancer reading 200 books on the stock market and the great speculators.Darvas put some of his money into a few stocks that were close to reaching their 52-week peak. He sold the stocks for a sizable profit after being utterly surprised by their continued increase. Barron's Magazine served as his primary stock selection guide. After amassing his wealth at the age of 39 Darvas published a book titled How I Made $2000000 in the Stock Market that details his strategies. His special Box System which he employed to purchase and sell stocks is described in the book. Even today Darvas' work is regarded as a classic on the stock market.
